Show PUBLISHER OF A PAPER WANTED Warrants, charging felony embezzlement, embez-zlement, were issued today for the arrest of Charles O. Reid and Leslie Wheeler-Reld, two brothers, who, until un-til recently, were publishers of a weekly paper In San Francisco and who have an agency in Ogden. They are accused by Mrs. W. B. Swears, one of the owners of a Jewelry Jew-elry company, with having failed to account for $3,180 worth of diamonds which, she says, thoy took to sell as her agents. Mrs Swears Informed the officers that ?15,000 worth of her stock was missing as a result of her dealings with the brothers. Leslie Reid, who married an Ogden girl, Is believed to be in Los Angeles, An-geles, and his brother was last heard of in Mansfield, Ohio. F. L Packard of Ogden, brother-in-law of L. E. Wheeler Reid of San Francisco, stated that ho surmises that the threatened trouble in which his relative Is involved Is the result of peculations on tho part of an employe em-ploye who recontly obtained possession posses-sion of the jewels mentioned and pawned them. In an effort to restore the property to their owner and shield his employe em-ploye and his associates from publicity public-ity In the matter, Wheeler-Rcid secured se-cured the pawn tickets from the man and had the jewels redeemed. "There is not the slightest foundation foun-dation for the charge," said Packard," as Wheeler-Rcid is independently wealthy and sole heir to a million-dollar estate In this country and England."
