Show NEIGHBORS IN A LITTLE QUARREL Edward C. McDonald, a solicitor for the Metropolitan LIfd Insurance company, and Mrs. Amandy Johnson, both residents of Second street, near I'lve Points, were found guilty in police po-lice court this morning of having disturbed the peaco and were fined $15 and $10 respectively. The caso consumed the greater part of tho forenoon, several witnesses wit-nesses being called. Including two little children of McDonald. The defendants de-fendants had. filed counter comp'aints vi disturbing the peace and, on hear-inc hear-inc the testimony in one caso, the judge ascertained thtl the qther was identical so far as evidence would bo presented and pronounced sentence as stated. According to tho storr told by the various witnesses, Mrs Johnson had been annoyed for n long time by the little McDonald boy calling hor names The boy w.bo Is S vears of age, stated that the worBe thing ho sajd was "Mandy Johnson, my sweet tiling," and he thought she liked t. Evidence showed, however, that she did not like It and that when alio met his father a few days ago she remonstrated with him McDonald. In the course or nn argument ar-gument which followed, declared that sho was 'no lady" whereupon she flew into a passion, hurled, a package of meat at his head and. In the "mix-up," "mix-up," it 1b said that McDonald's fist hit her on the nose. She started Immediately Im-mediately to csll the police, and, when McDonald sought to remonstrate remon-strate with her she picked up a rock from tho roadwav and attempted to hurl It at him. using strong language. Both defendants denied the several accusations but an apparently unbiased un-biased witness rather substantiated the .facts; whereupon tho judne declared de-clared both guilty McDonald for mixing in a children's quarrel and permitting his children U Insult hie neighbors: and Mrs. Johnson for acting act-ing In the disorderly manner related. Both paid their fines, after listening to a scorching discourse by tho judge, and departed" for their homes. |
