Show POSTOFFICE AT EDEN IS ROBBED ' The Eden Postofflce was broken into, during last night and a small sum of money taken. The postofflce Is In the store of John Gould and Is in charge of' Mrs. Mary Gould. When Mrs. Gould reached the store this morning sho found that tho Yale lock had been twisted from tho door. The place had bcqji ransacked and, In addition to about $5 85 In postal fundB. two do7.cn pocket knives were missing. Tho robbers had obtained an iron bnr from the blacksmith shop of Jesse Williams, which they used as a pry to force open the postofflce door, and break into the box where the postal money was secreted When Mail Carrier V. G. Smith left Edon this morning, the citizens wero looking for two ptrangers seen in the village late yesterday, whose mysterious mission and disappearance had not been explained. l.ocnl officers are of the opinion that If tho strangers aro proved to be freo from connection of the robbery, rob-bery, they will find a clno among tho young boys of Eden. |
