Show SODTHWORTB TO PLEAD SEPT. 22 Henry Southworth was brought before be-fore Judge Harris this morning and he listoned to the reading of the Information charging him with the murder of E. L, Hanks, August 12, 1911. His attorney announced that the statutory time. in which to plead would he taken, whereupon the court fixed September 22, at 10 o'clock a. ,m., as the timo for tho -plea to bo made.'' The attorney stated that there may be ome preliminary motion made, in the case before the plea is entered and before the case is set for trial. It is also. stated that affidavits from eastern people will be taken boforc the defendant will be ready for trial No effort has been made to have the defendant roleased on bail and it Is quite evident at this time that none will be made. Southworth slatel to a newspaper representative this norning that ho feels better than he did shortly after the homicide, but that he worries a good deal about his children, being anxious each day to know whether they aro properly cared for. . nn |
