Show FALLS ON TRACKS; CRUSHED BY ENGINE Ephrlnm, Sept. 15. Evan Johnson, aged 23 years, was run over by .an engine at Klslnoro this afternoon on tho Denver & Rio Grande railroad and died at Gunnison as he was being rushed to a hospital in Salt Lake City in an effort to save IiIb life. He was ' working near tho depot, where he had been as station agent for about ten days, and was crossing tho tracks when struck. The engine was closo, but ho would have crossed safely had ho not slipped and fallon. He made a frantic effort to get off tho tracks, but both less were cut off and his spine was injured. The engineer evidently evi-dently had not sufficient time to stop after Johnson fell. Evan Johnson, who was tho t.on of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, was married in April of this year to Miss Fern Rasmussen of Ephraim. He was born and bad lived most of his life at Mt. Ploasnnt, "where hn was well and favorably known. lie is survived by his widow, parents and brothors an.l sisters. The body will be sent to Mt. Pleasant for burial. |
