Senator Guggenheim, immediately imme-diately after prayer by Chaplain Pierce, in whicli especial note was taken of the remarkable fatality that has followed the senate slnco last June. Mr. Guggenheim announced that, Inasmuch In-asmuch as Senator Hughes' funeral would take place tomorrow, the appointment ap-pointment of a commmlttee would be dispensed with. The body of Charles J. Hughes, jr., will have Its final resting place at Fairmont cemotcry. Funeral sorviccs will bo private. Rev. Charles H. Mar-shall, Mar-shall, of St. Barnabas Episcopal church, a friend of many years' standing, stand-ing, will deliver tho funeral sermon Governor Shafroth today issued a proclamation, requesting that all business busi-ness offices of the state remain closed from 2 to 3 o'clock tomorrow, during which time the funeral will be held, as a mark of respect for the memory of the dead senator. Previous to tho services tomorrow, the 'body will lie In state at the Hughes home. A milltarv guard will be on duty and the public will be allowed to view the face of the dead statesman. Telograms of condolence continue to be received from all over the country. |
