Show FOUR BILLS IN SENATE. Senator Kuchlcr Gets a Busy Streak; Indian War Veterans' Memorial. Senator Rudolph Kuchler held tho floor of the senate this aftornoon introducing in-troducing four bills. His first bill was In regard to the statute on the cross-examjnatjon cross-examjnatjon of witnesses. The new bill provides an amendment preventing prevent-ing an officer of a corporatlou to be subject to1 cross-examination on any point which was not brought out on direct examination By request ho Introduced In-troduced an old bill which was before tho logisjature two years ago, provld- ing for an inspection of boats on tlio Grcnt Salt Lake. Tho third bill was in rosrd to the impounding of cattlo. It provides that cattle shall only be held 24 hours before they are taken to some authorized pound. By request, re-quest, he Introduced a fourth bill which provides that employes shall work only eight hours per day In establishments es-tablishments where dry goods are handled. The joint memorial introduced by Senator Carl Badger iu the senate yesterday afternoon and passed, placing plac-ing the Indian War voterans on tho pension list, was passed by the house this afternoon. Senate bill Xo. 5 was Introduced by Senator Kuchler which provides for the punishment of any person who circulates false reports In regard to bond companies, trust companies and socurlty companies. It provides for a flue of not more than $5,000 and five years' imprisonment, or both. Senator Wilson introduced senate resolution No. 4, which was passed. It provides that a committee of three be appointed to attend tlie funeral of Mrs. Serene Gardner, mother of President Presi-dent Gardner. |
