At the annual meeting of tho club Mayor Glasmann suggested that the club might be of good service as mediator me-diator between the Amalgamated Sugar company and the beet Growers of 'Weber county. The suggestion met. with hearty response on the part of the members present and a motion ombraclng the question was unanimously unani-mously carried. It was stated at the timo that all differences, such as prevail between the raisers of beets and the company, that turns them Into sugar, should be amicably settled and that, perhaps, the influence of the club might aid materially in the bringing about of such settlement To this end a communication com-munication has been addressed to the two nartlos, the Idea prevailing that they may ask a meeting with a committees com-mittees from tho Weber club to lakw the matter up and discuss It from all viewpoints, and, perchance, arrivo at a settlement The following letter has been mailed; To Sugar Beet People. "Mr. J. L. Robinson, chairman Weber Web-er County Beet Growers, Plain City, Utah, and David Eccles, President Amalgamated Sugar company, vOgden, Utah, Gentlemen: At a recent general gene-ral meeting of the members of this association, a motion unanimously prevailed pre-vailed that the Weber club tender Its good offices to both tlie beet growers' of Weber county and the sugar company com-pany officials with a view of effecting a more permanent and satisfactory understanding." |
