Show 3,000 coal mm GO OUHI ROSLYN ROSLYN, Wash,, April 3. Throo thousand coal miners employed In tho mines of the Northwestern Improvement Improve-ment company, a subsidiary of the Northern Pacific railroad, went on a strike today, as a result of a disagreement disagree-ment over the open shop question. The mines affected are those at Roslyn, Cleelum, Jonesvllle and Ronald. Ro-nald. The strike ovder was Issued following follow-ing a meeting tf tb:e union held last night at which it was charged that tho company has been discharging large numbers of union man and 'filling their places with non-union miners.
