Show uu JOHN r DEIOTT IS J TRIAL The trial of John 5IcDermott Is being be-ing held before Judge Howell today, the Jury to hear and pass upon the facts of the case being composed of tho following persons: 5Iathow Gold, Timothy Kendoll, Daniel W. Burt, David H. Doxey, P. Ernstrom, Fred A. Miller, A. U Sco-vlllo Sco-vlllo and Paul W. Steelier 5IcDermott is charged with forgery, the information alleging that on November No-vember 20, 1910, he forged the name of James Halverson to a check for $2G made payable to John Geary. James Halverson was plnced on tho witness stand and he testified that the check In question is a forgery, and that It was not Issued by him. The case Is still In progress and it will likely require tho afternoon and n part" of tomorrow to try it. 5lcDermott married a young lady of this city tho day ho was arrested for .forgery! and since that time he has acted as though mentally unbalanced. He seems rational at times. |
