Exceptional strength was shown by Canadian Pacific which jumped three points to 22G 1-4, equaling Its highest record. National biscuit advanced ad-vanced 2, Union Pacific gained a point and New York, New Haven and Hartford Hart-ford l03t 1 1-2. ' The pronounced strength of the Canadian group had Its effect on various vari-ous trans-continental railroad stocks which advanced sharply. Canadian Pacific Increased Its gain to four points; Northern Pacific, Chicago Chi-cago Northwestern, Wisconsin Central, Cen-tral, Pacific Mall and Soo Line all rose a point or more. Associated Oil opened open-ed four points down at 55 and rallied on the next transaction to 5S. Active stocks were easier at 11 o'clock. Reading Read-ing reacted a large fraction.
