Show EXTRACTS FROM THE TALK OF THOMAS BROOKS FLETCHER The Milford Elementary school is finding a great deal of food for reflection in the following extracts taken from the lecture of Thomas Brooks Fletcher: We always become the thing about which we think most. Most of us do not think. I know teachers all over the country coun-try that are having to educate the children in spite of the parents. Too many children are not born into the world but are damned into it. If you are going to give an hour and a half's talk, you must give an hours entertainment in order to give thirty minutes of good sound sense. You cannot change conditions until un-til you change people's minds. People are fed upon trash until .they want Intellectual ragtime. I thank the good God that a woman wom-an can, today, earn her own living and does not have to marry the first biped "boob" that comes along. The fools that are martyred for what they think have to die before the people can see them. I kind o' like the really bad people, peo-ple, there Is something really good about them. People who are not negatively good are positively bad. They may kill the thinker but they cannot kill the thought. |
