Show SMALL BOYS GET INTO TROUBLE Two grammar school boys were in serious trouble this week. Out of regard for them and for their relatives rela-tives the News will not mention their names, hoping that the leniency given them in the matter will not have the effect of lessening in their minds the seriousness of their offense. of-fense. The boys are about 11 and 12 years of age respectively. One of the boys has been going into places of business and sneakingly stealing small articles when no one happened to be looking his way. He would then take the knife or whatever it might be to school and trade or sell it to some of his associates. His success suc-cess evidently made him bolder in his criminal actions, for he took another boy into his confidence and the two entered Sloan's store after closing hours by climbing through a hole in the transom and taking several sev-eral pocket knives, some watches and a little loose change from the money drawer. The goods were not missed until the thieving was discovered dis-covered at school. One of the boys was trying to sell a new knife. Upon being questioned he admitted he had more new knives and further questioning ques-tioning elicited a full confession from the lad. The juvenile officers were notified and the boys had a hearing before the Justice court. Because Be-cause of their extreme youth they have been given another chance to be square. A probation period has been granted. Failure to do the right thing will immediately land the lads inthe hands of the court for whatever action he deems proper. ( a |
