Show BEAVER MINES OPEN NEW ORE Beaver county mining has displayed dis-played considerable activity the past winter and la coming into the spring with possible increased operations in many of the districts of the county, and particularly in the Beaver lake district, about a dozen miles to the northwest of Milford, according to A. J. McMullen, who is now connected connect-ed with the McLease lease on the Copper Mountain mine. In the same vicinity the Beaver Copper is continuing con-tinuing its work on the 200 level, where it Is sinking a winze on ore. The Copper Ranch, four miles to the south, is opening a new body of ore on the 150 level. At the Copper Mountain, a big iron-copper vein is being developed on the 250 level. In places it is 27 feet wide. Four carloads of ore have been shipped from this deposit since January 1. Another is ready for market. The ore has carried an excess ex-cess of 40 per cent iron and the copper cop-per content has averaged 3.5 to 4 per cent, is the report. The iron ore has been demonstrated for 40 feet along its strike to the west. Recently a winze was started from the 250 level and Is now down about ten feet. It Is going down on the limestone wall Bide. The gangue is showing some manganese. One recent re-cent sampling showed 7.93 per cent copper and 50 per cent iron excess, it is declared. There is another stope opened up in the property from which three carloads of silicious ores have been shipped since November 1. Herald-Republican. |
