Show PATRIOTIC BALL A SUCCESS The Patriotic and Historical Costume Cos-tume Ball at the Milford Opera House last Tuesday night was well attended and was certainly a splen-1 did social affair as well as a patriotic j demonstration of what Milford folks can do on short notice when they get j started. The costumes were interesting inter-esting and some of the characters exceedingly ex-ceedingly well taken. Not a large number were in historical costume on account of the great difficulty in procuring desired material or ready-made ready-made costumes in time. Mr. J. A. Ingols as George and Mrs. L. B. Jor-gensen Jor-gensen as Martha Washington cap-menu cap-menu carried out the same idea, the tured first prizes. The ball resulted result-ed in a good social time, and nearly $50 added to the treasury of the patriotic pa-triotic fund. The Red Cross, of j which Mrs. Swanson is" chairman, served punch. Other characters represented by costume were Mrs. Elmer as Goddess of Liberty, Will Dobson Colonial, Mrs. Nichols and Mrs. Swanson as Red Cross nurses, and numerous others whose names and the charac-' ters taken we were unable to obtain. |
