Show Demonstration TWELVE CARS OFJXHIBITS Preparedness Train Here Monday the 14th Open to All AGRICULTURAL COLLEGES OP THREE STATES CO-OPERATE WITH SALT LAKE ROUTE The big National Prepared- ness Demonstration Train, wliich began its tour of Utah, Nevada and California over the Salt Lake Route, May 1, under the auspices of the Utah Agri- cultural College, the University of Nevada and the University of California., will be in Milford, May 14, 1917. This great educa- tional feature, which will con- sist of nearly fifteen demonstra- tion cars, will prove of the greatest value In this great food shortage, because it will show practical ways by which the pro- duction of our crops and live- stock can be increasedf how the labor supply can be made more effective, and how great savings in food consumption can he ef- fected. Exhibits covering cer- eal crops, sugar beets, potatoes, livestock, irrigation and dry farming, farm machinery, food products, nutrition, the conser- vation of child life, and clothing will be on display. Demonstra- tions in plowing and stock judg- ing will be held at each stop, and experts will deliver special lectures on topics adapted to each community. This train will be of such val- ue as an educational feature, that all school children should be given an opportunity to in- spect the cars, where gnides will explain the significant feat- ures of the exhibits to them. It is strongly urged that all schools be dismissed the afternoon of May 14, 1917, when the train will visit this town. |
