Local Beaver county is keeping up her record for recruits. This week six from Beaver and two more from Mil-ford Mil-ford brought the total up to forty-eight forty-eight for the county thus far. Sidney Thayer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rehm, is the latest recruit re-cruit from the Milford high school. Sidney was a member of the basket ball team and is a husky chap who should be able to pass the examination examina-tion and give a good account of himself him-self later. to George Larson of the high school faculty did his best to get into training train-ing camp for Uncle Sam, but failed to pass. "His best" is all anyone can do. Only two of the Beaver recruits have thus far been rejected Warren War-ren Cox and Albert Dean. IBS The News would like to see a real county-wide patriotic demonstration. Let peace and good-will prevail among the neighbors of this small county, and there are not many things which cQuld be undertaken that we cannot accomplish. The monthly papers of the bureaus reach noarly all the better farmers of the State and the co-operation of these farmers is an object lesson for thrift, economy and general efficiency that should result in lasting good to the State and especially to its agricultural agricultur-al interests. to A registration board is to be appointed ap-pointed in each county to register all male citizens eligible for military duty. This is the first step to be taken ta-ken under the selective draft system. Thirty-nine to constitute, such a board for Salt Lake county have al-roady al-roady been appointed. to Six million pounds of flour have been stored In Salt Lake City by the bakeries there. to Governor Bamberger has commissioned commis-sioned all school superintendents as organizers of the Working Boys' Reserve Re-serve in Utah. The Secretary of Agriculture Ag-riculture has recommended that these organizations be formed from boys not of military age who are not trained to farm work. The Marines have recruited recruit-ed their entire authorized strength of 17,400.
