Show ACTIVITIES OF APPEAL PLANNED BY AUXILIARY A program, of activities of widelj varied character will be carried out by the local unit of the American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary during the coming year, Naomi Hughes Unit President, announced following completion of a tentative outline of the Unit's program pro-gram for 1D32. The wide scope of the activities will enable members of the unit to take part in the type of work most appealing to them and will give all members an opportunity to participate in the active life of the Auxiliary. Work for the welfare of the disabled disabl-ed veterans and the families of the dead and disabled will again be foremost fore-most in the Auxiliary's program for 1932. The increasing number of veterans vet-erans who are breaking down from the results of their war service and the steadily growing toll which death is taking from among the men who served in the World War are calling for constantly enlarged efforts by the Auxiliary. Economic conditions are making the situatinon of the disabled and thd dependent families especially serious this year and our unit anticipates antici-pates heavier demands than ever before be-fore for Auxiliary aid. Community betterment projects designed de-signed to increase the social, educational, educa-tional, economic and recreational opportunities op-portunities of the community will also al-so occupy attention of the Auxiliary. Through its associatin with the Women's Wo-men's Auxiliary of Fidac, the interallied interal-lied veterans' federation, the Auxiliary Auxil-iary will work to strengthen international interna-tional understanding and good will. Social activities different types will be included in the year's program. Enrollment of members for 1932 has been started by our local Unit and Mrs. Hughes is using all eligible women to come into the organization at this time in order to get started in the year's activities. |
