Show SOUTH MILFORD NEWS Miss Afton Odell, of the U. A. C, extension service, was a guest at the Cates ranch the latter part of this week. The prevailing high winds have interfered with seed threshing to a small extent- Seed returns seem only fair this fall, according to the conservative con-servative estimate. Miss Margret Cates is teaching dramatic art, typwriting-and physical education in the Minersville high school, this year. An urgent appeal has come to the Milford chapter of Red Cross for funds to aid sufferers in Florida and Porto Rico, and our community will be called upon for its chare. The response undobutedly will be given as promptly and cheerfully as in the past. Contributions may be made to Mr. Kent Smith, President of the Community Com-munity Club. Social Hour Club The Social Hour Club met last Thursday at the club house with Mes-dam'es Mes-dam'es Don Pocock and La Von Bird as hostesses. ' Part of the time was spent cutting and joining the bed jackets which the club is making for the Red Cross. Mrs. F- B. Robinson gave a delightful delight-ful account of her visit to the recent flower show in Salt Lake and closed with many encouraging words for the flower, growers of our community. Delicious refreshments were served from small tables. Guests of the afternoon were Mes-dames Mes-dames Myers, Evans and Corbridge. The club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 4th at the club house with Mrs. F. B. Robinson as hostess. |
