Show LOCAL OPTION LAW COMING. President Joseph V. Smith's declaration In favor of .local option liquor laws means that the next leglolature will pass a law making It possible pos-sible for each court ty to vote each ear on the question of license or no license. While there has been a more or less active effort to stir up a sentiment In favor of local option, that activity will now become vigorous and never-ceasing until the desired result Is obtained. The officials offi-cials of the church from teacher to Apostle, and even the laymen, will make local option the burden of their talk, now that President Smith has spoken and may they be successful in their efforts to arouse public opinion in favor of local option and against the saloon. There should be no place in this nation for tho saloon there should be no tratllo in liquor, certainly there should be no licensed or unlicensed saloons sa-loons where tho people do not want ahem. Local option offers the opportunity of voting them out and the people arc entitled to the opportunity. It then devolves upon the officials offi-cials to see that ttie laws are enforced. A proper sentiment back of the officials will enable en-able them to handle the situation fairly well. |
