In the past two or three years the M Junction city's organization, In the language B of Its president, took tyi the following: M "First of all, perhaps, was the passage of a M law creating a board of park commissioners, to m have full charge of our city's breathing places, M all parking, treo planting and the like. This settlement, M while not approved by everybody, saved our H city more than 130,000 and gave to Ogden free B water for practically all city purposes. , Through the league's efforts the epidemic M for "civic Improvement" has spread f mm house B to liouso throughout the entire city, adding H wonderfully to tho beauty and value of many M homes and streets. Much street parking has B been and Is now being done, many fences have flv been removed, and In other ways tho hom.es of M our city have been made brighter and more B beautiful. m Wc suggested that Ogden city should have B a moro respectable patrol wagon. Our city r fathers heard our plea. m, We protested against the granting of cot- H. tain II lings upon waters of Ogden river In Ogden Ht canyon and asked thai the river be not pumped H' dry. Mr Bancroft had the applications with- H drawn. H In order to stimulate the movement toward M civic improvement wo'offcred prizes for the H best kept lawns In the city. Our requests M were not denied. . B We found that by purchasing about $50 B worth of pipe we could restore the magnificent M waterfall in Ogden canyon.
