Show T-Birds near top in district stats ferson of Region with 567 followed fol-lowed by Dale Crowther of Adams State with .548. Kohn Smith is the District's fourth leading free throw shooter with an average of .786 percent of his shots. Pat McAuliffe of New Mexico leads the district with .900 hitting 10 of 18 attempts. Jim Wilding is the tenth leading rebounder in the District Dis-trict taking down 10 per game. Leader is Baynard Forrest of Grand Canyon with 14.4 average aver-age followed by Doug Tate of Westminster with 13.5 takedowns take-downs per game. Although the Southern Utah State College Thundertxirds took a nosedive in the standings stand-ings in District 7 of the Na. tional Association of Intercollegiate Intercol-legiate Athletics, as the result re-sult of four road losses, the, team and individual members still rank high in several statistical areas. As a team the T-Birds are the second leading offensive team in the District with an average of 83.8 points per game, just behind Westminster Westmins-ter who has averaged 88.7. Those average were compiled prior to the T-Bird win over the Parsons this past week. Defensively the T-Birds are in (fifth place giving up 76.7 points per game. Toughest team on defense in the Region is Grand Canyon who have allowed opponents only 66.2 points per game. Individually Gary Crosby is third in field goal percentage in the Region. Crosby is hitting hitt-ing at a .542 clip. Leading in this department is Frank Jef- The T-Blras are tilth in team rebounding, fourth in team field goal percentage shooting and seventh in team foul shooting percentage in District 7. |
