Show City Council consider recreation programs Recommendations to broad-en broad-en the base of the Cedar City Recreation program Include schools and church organizations organiza-tions and to provide more recreational rec-reational outlets for girls, were made to Cedar City Council Thursday evening iby Ken Benson, chairman of the committee com-mittee and Harold Shirley, director di-rector of the program. The council indicated that Ithey were open to suggestions for additional programs for girls and also to bbtaln an indication in-dication as to whether or not three time per week and throughout the entire year no negative reports were made on the culinary sytem, accord-ing accord-ing to Mayor Loren Wlhetten. Based on recommendations of the City Planning and Zon-ing Zon-ing Commission the Council approved Cedar Knolls subdivision. sub-division. The subdivision is a plot of approximately 15 acres located northwest of the Cedar High School. Development Develop-ment of condominium complexes com-plexes are planned In the area during the coming year. mothers will be willing to assist as-sist in the programs similar to those established for boys, particularly in the baseball program. The council also suggested that Benson consult with the Coordinating Council to consider con-sider broadening of the Recreation Rec-reation Committee base as the appointments to the committee are handled prin c 1 p a 1 1 y through that organization. The pair also announced that plans for development of this summer's program were underway. The council authoriled the bonding firm of Burrows and Smith, Inc. of Salt Lake City to begin planning for an est. imated $250,000 bonding pro-gram pro-gram to be matched by grant money for the development of sewage disposal Improvements and extension of the sewer system In Cedar City. The firm is to recommend the type of bonding, revenue or general obligation, that would best suit the needs of the city and to prepare for the necessary requirements for bonding based on the availability availa-bility of applied for grant funds. The council further heard a report from the State Board of Health indicating that sam-plimg sam-plimg taken throughout the past year Indicated that the city water system met all of the requirements of the health department.
