Show Owens plans visit in So. Utah Keip. Wayne Owens today announced that he will be in Southern Utah on Tuesday, February 13, at the Beaver Courthouse, between the hours of 9 and 10:30 am, for dis. cussions with local officials and constituents. The Congressman Con-gressman said that in light of recent federal budget cut proposals, he exvipects to discuss dis-cuss the implications of the cuts on specific projects in the southern part of the state. "The Administration is practicing prac-ticing 'false economy' in making mak-ing the cullbacks in rural development de-velopment programs," he said. "It is a major error in judgement judge-ment to sacrifice efforts to Ihielip rural areas build up their economies and provide jobs for people through such programs pro-grams as the REAP, REA 2 loans, and the Water Bank." "The overall impact of these cuts on Southern Utah is still not completely clear," remr-I" ed the Congressman. "I wou like to discuss this with local officials so that I can have a better idea of how the local economy is going to continue to support those programs in progress." .
