Show SUSG R0TG unit joined by Army veteran Lanny W. MoCorimaok of Pulaski, Tenn. transferred to Southern Utah State College this quarter to complete the last two years of his undergraduate under-graduate major la history and to enroll In Air Forct ROTC. Lanny's transfer to SUSC was Influenced Iby his decision to enter iROTC which was not offered of-fered at the school he was attending in Tennesee. Lanny's enrollment in Aero, space Studies is of particular interest. He certainly isn't concerned con-cerned with evading the draft, having previously served over two years in the U.S. Army. He enlisted for Warrant Officer Of-ficer Flight Training during the summer of 1969 and after completing Helicopter Flight Training, served in Vietnam as a Warrant Officer Pilot in an Assault Helicopter Company. Com-pany. After leaving the Army to complete his education, Lanny decided to re-enter the service through AFROTC, this time fully aware of the benefits and disadvantages of military life. Lanny says he enjoys military mil-itary flying and picked the Air Force because flying could be his primary job. In the Army, aviation is an optional specialty for officers. He also believes that non-flying jobs ' in the Air Force can easily rnpete with those of Industry in areas of job opportunity, advancement, pay, and chal-lange. chal-lange. Lanny 9 interested in Military Intelligence as a secondary sec-ondary specialty. At present, Lanny U serving as AFROTC Injector and is I a welcome addition to the Pro- fessional Officers Course, at . S0uthem Utah State College. |
