City considers action on curb and gutter A public meeting was held last Wednesday to discuss the pros and cons of the city's plans for new curb and gutter on main street in Parowan. The area the city wants renewed re-newed is from third south to fourth north. Only a small group of people peo-ple attended the meeting, and 6f the 62 notices which were sentoufc;23 protests were re- ; celved from property owners. Therefore, out of the 6,760 feet involved along the street, 2,180 feet is under protest. Since the measure is figured in feet not people, only one-third of the property owners involved need approve the project. However, the city council states that some of the curb is still in good shape and will not need to be replaced. The council and a project engineer will check the present curb and gutter and decide which sections will need to be replaced. |
