Show BPW attend District Meeting President of the Cedar City Club was in attendance. She was accompanied by six members: Neola Brown, Edna Sargent, Leta Cowley, Karla Hulet, Carolyn Middlesworth and Candace Ewine. The Fall Conference of the Southern District of Business and Professional Women's Clubs was held in the Sun Room of Dixie College in St. George Saturday. It was a 2 p. m. Buffet Luncheon, attended by officers and members from Milford, Beaver, Cedar City, Richfield, Zion, and St. George Clubs. Nettie Pickett, District Director presided. She was assisted by Marie Booth, Vice Director. A number of State Federation Officers were present, including: Greta Bauer, State Federation President, Madelaine Parker, immediate Past President, Peggy Hanson, Program Director; Katherine Putnam, Foundation Foun-dation Chairman; Linda Bloomer, membership chairman; Karla Hulet. finance chairman; Erma Jeanne Argyle, public relations chairman and Virginia Dalton. Greta Bauer gave a brief outline of the beginning and progress ' of BPW Clubs, especially after World War I when a name, A Collect, and an emblem were chosen. Also she stated that the year 1968 was the largest membership year with 178,000. Madelaine Parkei reported that the Panguitch Club received an award at the National Convention for the greatest percentage gain in membership in the entire Federation. The Southern District and State F ederation is very proud of this award Those in attendance at-tendance were urged to try to stabilize memberships. Cedar City Club needs 20 more members to do so.
