Show J I ' jL': ' 4U KIRK MATHESON KMatheson to fill LDS Mission PAROWAN -Kirk Matheson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd J. Matheson has been called to server serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Matheson has been called from the Parowan 3rd Ward and will serve in the California-Fresno Mission. He will be the speaker at the sacrament meeting of the 3rd Ward Sunday, Oct. 9 at 2 p. m. He will enter the mission home in Salt Lake City on October 15 prior to leaving for his mission assignment. Kirk is a graduate of Parowan High School. He moved to Parowan from Cedar City while in the 9th grade. He has attended Southern Utah State College for the past year. He also graduated from the LDS Seminary program and has been active in the Institute program while at SUSC. Active in drama and sporets he played football, basketball and ran track while at Parowan High School. He was a member of the Madrigal's and studentbody vice president. Kirk was listed in Who's Who in America's High Schools. A recipient of the Duty to God Award he has been first assistant to the Bishop while in the Priest Quorum. He is an Eagle Scout and has been active throughout his life in activities of the LDS Church. r |
