Show 'i I'll J 7qy J j. DIRECT FROM WASHINGTON, D. C. The Studio Band of the United States Army Field Band is shown in the nation's capitol. On tour the group will be in con cert at the Cedar City High School Auditorium Monday, Mon-day, Oct. 3. The concert will feature "Jazz: A Great American Heritage." Army Studio Band in Concert Oct. 3 The Studio Band of the United States Army Field Band of Washington, D. C, will be concert in Cedar City Monday evening, Oct. 3 at 8 p. m. at the Cedar City High School Auditorium. The band is being sponsored by the Iron County Record and the public is invited to attend free of charge. Three years ago the entire Army Field Band was in concert in Cedar City and received tremendous acceptance. The Studio Band has astounded critics and audiences across the country. Its versatility in blending the sounds of jazz, rock, pop and patriotic music has created a new concept in military musical organizations. The Studio Band is directed by Chief Warrant Officer Paul Chiaravalle. The style of music performed by the Studio Band has been experienced at stage band clinics, national music conferences con-ferences and on countless college and university campuses with a proficiency found only in the recording studios of Los Angeles, Nashville and New York City. It is suggested by the sponsoring organization that the performance would make an excellent "family home evening" activity and recommend that the entire family attend this special performance. Junior High, High School and College Band students are especially invited to attend. Remember that the concert is free to the public and is scheduled to begin promptly at 8 p. m. "We feel fortunate to have such an outstanding musical organization touring through our area," Klien Rollo, editor said. "We hope that the public will find this concert one of quality and entertainment. It is really an opportunity op-portunity that is rarely afforded in the southern Utah area," he concluded. |
