Show ASSUSC Senators represent Freshmen Two new ASSUSC senators will be sworn in this week at Southern Utah Stte College. Craig Wood, Cedar City, and Laurie Laub, Enterprise, En-terprise, will represent SUSC freshmen men and women, respectively, in the legislative branch of student government. The two first-time first-time SUSC students were elected in a recent campus election. With the addition of the two freshmen senators, the senate includes 16 members, a male and female senator from each class and two students from each of the four academic schools of the college. Larry Hatch, student body vice president, serves as the senate president. The ASSUSC senate carries out the legislative function or student government govern-ment through consideration of bills and the ap portionment of funding for the operation of the various branches and departments of student government. All new student body officers and editors of any campus publication must be confirmed con-firmed by this group. Laub is a graduate of Enterprise High School. She is majoring in child development and sociology at SUSC and belongs to two organizations on campus, Lambda Delta Sigma and Sigma Delta Omicron. The new senator is the daughter of Normand and Barbara Laub, Enterprise. Wood plans to major in architectural design with a m inor in interior design. He is the son of Max D. and Patricia Wood, Cedar City, and is a graduate of Cedar High School. Wood is a member of Sigma Gamma Chi fraternity at SUSC. |
