Show Roscoe Graver Art Exhibitat SUSC An exhibit of 33 paintings by Roscoe A. Grover, well-known well-known to thousands of school children in the 1950's as KSL Radio's "Uncle Roscoe," is currently on display in the Southern Utah State College Library. Paintings in the collection were completed from the 1920's through the present and consist mainly of protraits and landscapes according to library director A. Thomas Challis. The collection will be exhibited in the library foyer through August 18. Library hours through August 3 are from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. weekdays. week-days. From August 6 -18, the library will be open weekdays week-days from 2 - 7 p.m. Grover was the manager of Radio Station KSUB in Cedar City for several years. He later became KSL's "Uncle Roscoe", with over 20,000 children appearing on his after-school show. During his radio and television career he was also the chief announcer and program director at KSL. "Grover is a man of many talents and professions," Challis said. "Not only is he a former radio and television personality, but he is an actor; a teacher with degrees from the University of Utah and New York University; and an artist who excells in many forms of painting." SUSC's guest artist currently spends much of his time teaching art to Senior Citizens groups. |
