Show New Harmony News By Marva D. Prince New Harmony was saddened Thursday morning of word received by Ashby Pace of the passing of his sister Aunt Lureen P. Taylor 91, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Ordell (Ilia) Walker of Las Vegas, Nev. Aunt Lureen was loved by young and old alike and had lived here most of her life except the last few years she lived in Las Vegas with the Walkers and in Bountiful with another Son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Dean (Verda) McFarlane and family due to poor health. She was born in Nutrisso, Ariz, to Lemuell A. and Susan A. Clark Pace. Married William P. Taylor Dec. 5, 1906, St. George LDS Temple. She is also survived by two other daughters, Mrs. Beulah T. Collam, Phoenix and Mrs. Kent (Josephine) Grant of Las Vegas, will spend the summer here with her parents Darce and Camilla Prince. Carol teaches school in Grantsville. Several folks from here attended at-tended the Dance Review presented by Debra Demille Laine. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goodwin, daughter Lynett, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Parke and daughter Sonnia, Ashby Pace, daughter Camilla, Carol Petty, Brent Prince, Mark Kelsey, Ronnie Roblienn and Kay Love and Aunt Emma Nielson. Lynett Goodwin and Sonnia were students in the Dance Review. Mrs. Idonna Truman is here spending a few days from her home In Henderson, Nev. visiting with her sister Stella Brown and to recover from a fall she had at her job in Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. and Mrs. Hilbert Melville of California visited one day with his brother Fred and their friend Afton Grant. Visiting several days with their grandparents Anthon and Sylvia Pace were children of Jean Pace Carter of Minersville. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Prince and daughter Kara and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Beatty and son were Sunday visitors of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Prince and Mrs. Leah Beatty. The Princes and Batty's are from Cedar City. also by brother Ashby W. Pace, and by two sisters Mrs. Minnie MacFarlane, and Mrs. Glen R. (Merl) Olsen both of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Beatty and daughter Shauna spent Sunday afternoon in Hurricane with the Beattys mother, Evelyn Beatty. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Prince received word that their daughter-in-law Mrs. Roland (Susie) Prince of Cedar City was taken to the Valley View Medical Center in Cedar received medical treatment. Mrs. Prince has been in Cedar City staying with her granddaughter Kara while Suzie is in the hospital. At this writing Mrs. Prince is still in the hospital. Mrs Alta Hoovee of Las Vegas, Nev. is here visiting her Mother Aunt La Verna F. Englestead and to attend the Funeral service of Aunt Lureen Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Taylor Returned home after spending ten days in Salt Lake and Sandy and in Mexico with their children Joycelyn Ray and Terry and their families. Several of our townspeople attended the viewing Friday night in Cedar City at the Metcalf Southern Utah Mortuary for Aunt Lurene Taylor. Brent Prince has returned home after spending a few days in Grantsville with his sister Carol Petty. He was accompanied ac-companied home by Carol who Mrs. Doneva Prisbrey was hostess to a Tri-Chem party at her home Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Berdean Schlosser is the new Tri-Chem Instructor and several ladies attended the party. Mark and Raymond Masterson are spending a few weeks in Orem with their father Wayne Masterson and family. The boys are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Herb (Berdean) Schlosser) Mr. and Mrs. Dale .King and family of Clearfield spent a few days here with Mrs. King. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Grant and then they left their baby, Lissa Leann with the Grants and traveled on to vacation at Disneyland and other parts of interest in Calif. Mrs. King will be remembered by her friends as Rolaine Grant. Mrs. Stella Brown received word that her brother-in-law Antone Foremaster was thrown from a horse and was seriously hurt Good luck to Antone. ii |
