Show Cedar City Council accepts bids on anticipation notes pointment to the Cedar City Planning and Zoning Commission. Com-mission. Mayor Jones is expected ex-pected to present a recommendation recom-mendation for Council consideration. con-sideration. The appointment will fill a vacancy on the Commission created by the expiration of the term of Frank Cooley. Mr. Cooley has asked that he not be considered for reappointment to the commission, Mayor Jones stated. In other action the Council: -Gave exclusive rights to the Lions Club of Cedar City on Main Street and the City Park, during daylight hours, for concession operations on the Independence Day Celebration which will be observed on Monday, July 5. In separate action approval was ' given for a donation to the Lions Club to help defray fireworks costs. -Approved a final Plot plan on the proposed Pinewood Subdivision Sub-division on the South end of Fir Street. -Held a public hearing to consider a zone change request on the west one-third of the Cedar Crest Subdivision to allow for the construction of a dental clinic. The zoning change was approved, ap-proved, but restricted the change from R-2 to R-3 on only Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Block 8 of the sub- , division. -Approved a contract with the ; Salt Lake Legal defense council, represented by Attorney Jim Shumate, calling for a flat $60 i City Court Indignant persons fee i to be paid to the defense lawyers i in cases where the City is the Plaintif against an individual without financial means of securing a lawyer. . , Cedar City Corporation accepted ac-cepted a bid from State Bank of Southern Utah for the providing of $500,000 tax income anticipation an-ticipation bonds. Bids were opened for the tax anticipation bonding funds at the meeting of the Council held June 17. The money will be used to temporarily pay the Federal share of construction progress payments on the New Sewage Treatment Plant, "f Mayor Kerry Jones indicated ijhat Federal funds had been expended and ' that additional funds would not be available .until after July 1. The bond funding was necessary, he indicated, in-dicated, to insure that the project would continue without delay. State Bank of Southern Utah Submitted the low bids on a 4.3 percent tax exempt rate and will Cover a period of up to 45 days. i Authorization was given by the Council for the city attorney to prepare a draft resolution showing Cedar City's support on the Alunite Development in West Beaver County. The resolution Will be presented at the council meet to be held this evening, jine 24, for consideration. j Request for the resolution was njade by Harry Perry of Earth Sciences, Inc., developers of the Alunite project.
