Show J KARLA ADAMS House Manager Karla Adams, a resident of Cedar City, is working this summer as a member of the Utah Shakespearean Festival Company. The annual Festival, which is being staged for the 17th consecutive summer on the campus of Southern Utah State College in Cedar City, Utah, will attract over 28,000 patrons this summer, and the Festival company of approximately 150 persons is chosen by audition and applications from over 800 requests. Karla is filling the position of house manager in the Festival Company, and this is her first season with the Festival. "I enjoy especially the repertory aspect of the Utah Shakespearean Festival," Karla said. "It gives each of the company members opportunity to develop skills in more than one area, or to broaden the technical skills which the person, brings to the Festival." Karla is the daughter of Norman Adams, 372 South 600 West, Cedar City. Being produced this summer are OTHELLO, A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM and TWELFTH NIGHT, in a season which began July 13 and which will run through August 19. In addition, matinee performances per-formances of Richard Sheridan's THE SCHOOL FOR SCANDAL in a modern version titled SCANDALS will be shown two afternoons each week. The Utah Shakespearean Festival also features activities ac-tivities each day of the production season, including literary and productrion seminars, backstage tours, Shakespearean films and Renaissance music. Each evening preceding the performance, green show activities include Elizabethan dancing, puppet shows, w andering musicians and colorful vendors as well as lute and madrigal singing. |
