Show A summit Whic ker and six children left Friday for Suit Lake City to attend a Whicker family reunion on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Dannie Condie, Russell and Caycie traveled to Layton Friday to spend the weekend with Mr. Condie's sister and family, the 1'at Hovers. Mr. and Mrs Gerry Kawlmson and new baby daughter arrived here recently from Nampa, Id. to visit with their folks Mr. and Mrs. Ilyrum Humpherys. The Dee Whites are vacationing at I'age, Arizona. Mrs. Iduma King is here from Ogden to sXMid some time with her daughter and family the Alma Lawrences. Mr. Lyle Farrow hit Sat. for Kearnville, Calif, to spend a few (lays and bring his wife Delia home after nearly a moths stay with son-in law and daughter Greg and Myra Mosdell. They are first time parents of a baby girl born Tliurs. Aug. 3. Accompanying Mr. ('arrow were two of Delia's Garfield grandchildren from Knoch. Mrs. Dee Kl Stapley spent two days in Murray last week with her mother. Mrs. Viola Nielsen. Mr. and Mrs. Vergean Dorter and son Clint of Escalante spent several days here with their daughter and family, the Darryl Davenports and were joined here on July 24 by son Kevin and wife Lori of Cedar City. They enjoyed the very fine holiday activities sponsored by the Primary organization in celebration of its 100th anniversary which consisted of a flag raising ceremony parade program, free dinner, sports and dance in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Itv Donna Duwupoit Our community was saddened Thur. Aug. 3 when word reached here of the dath of a lovely lady Virgie W. Mickelson following a long illness. Died in Murray Rest Home. Horn July 1, l'.ioo in Summit to Herbert and Lilliam Dalley White. Married Melvin A. Mitchell, May 23, 1920. Salt Lake City. He died September 9, li)4. She married Peter M. Mickelson July 22, 194!), Midvale, Ut. He died October Oc-tober 13, 1907. She taught school 35 years, was also active in the LDS Church and Business and Professional Women's Club. She has lived here with her sister, Mrs. Helen Matheson most of the time since the death of her 2nd husband until this spring. Survivors are son Melvin A. Mitchell, Jr. and daughter-in-law of Sandy, five grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Brothers Don, Mesquite, Nov.; Herbert Jr. St. George; Sisters Helen Matheson, Summit, Delia Wilkin, Pioche, Nev., Esther Lowe, Hawthorne, Nev. Mrs. Helen Matheson left Friday for Midvale to attend funeral services and was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wilkin and Mrs. Esther Lowe. Mrs. Lowe and husband Cecil are spending the summer at Pangutch Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smith and daughter Mrs. Helen Richards spent last Saturday in Enoch attending a Goodwin family reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Gibson. |
