Show Lions Club to stage benefit for Reldon Matheson I The regular dinner meeting I of the Parowan Lions Club was held at the Bel Aire Cafe on Thursday evening, July 23. Several matters of business in connection with club projects were discussed and taken care of during the evening, with Bruce Decker, new president, conducting. The club members voted to sponsor a benefit drawing for Reldon Matheson, local resi- j dent, who has had a prolonged prolong-ed stay in the hospital. The project will be financed with a drawing for a fat steer, and tickets may be obtained from club members. The drawing will take place at the dance on the last night of the Iron County Fair, oh Monday;. Sept. 7 (Labor Day). The club members also voted vot-ed to hold a work day at the City race track to help in putting put-ting the track in shape for the Iron County Fair race meets. The work day is set for this Saturday, Aug. 1. The club has again been awarded the beer concession at the County Fair race meet and Lion Earl Bunn was named nam-ed chairman to have charge of this project. Prior to the close of the meeting, President Decker showed a couple of interesting interest-ing films. |
