DON DRAPER r.lr. and Mrs, Don Draper called to fill LDS mission in Gulf States Mr. and Mrs. Don Draper of Cedar City, have been called from the Cedar Fifth Ward to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Drapers will labor in the Gulf States mission with headquarters ' at Shreveport, La. and are slated to enter the mission home in Salt Lake City August 15. The Drapers, who have re-sided re-sided in Cedar City for the past 43 years, were married Sept. 14, 1926 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived one year in Ogden before moving to Cedar Ce-dar City to make their perm-anent perm-anent residence. Draper was a barber for 20 years and later took over as tlie Distributor for the American Ameri-can Oil Company, a position he held until his retirement in 1968. Both have been extremely active in affairs of the church. Mr. Draper served a a counselor coun-selor in the Fifth Ward Bishopric Bish-opric for five years and was a member of the Cedar Stake' High Council for seven years. He has been a member of the Stake Genealogy committee and superintendent of the First Ward MIA. In 1937 he was accorded the coveted Distinguished Service Award by the Cedar City Jay-cees, Jay-cees, has served as president of the Rotary Club and has been active in wildlife organizations. organ-izations. Mrs. Draper has served in the Primary, YWMIA and Relief Re-lief Society in a variety of executive ex-ecutive and teaching positions. She has served 10 years as president of the Southern Utah Nurses Association, has assisted at the Iron County Hospital for a number of years and for 13 years was co-ordin-ator of Student Health at Southern Utah State College. The Drapers have two daughters, Mrs. A. Jay (Max-ine) (Max-ine) Webb, of Idaho Falls, Ida-ho Ida-ho and Mrs. Douglas R. (Janet) (Jan-et) Bonnet of Buena Park, Calif. They have four grandchildren. |
