Show Practicum planned at 80 SO for classroom teacher for students ; A learning Disabilities Prac-" Prac-" ticum will be held daily, July ' 17 through 28, f rem 2:30 to 5 p. m. at Southern Utah State .College. The class is designed to help the classroom teacher ' better cope with the child who has learning problems. It brings the student from special education back to the regular classroom and prepares prepar-es the teacher to handle the exceptional student there. A special staff of eight local, state, and national personalities personal-ities will be on hand to give the teacher ideas and aids for working with t h e special child. Cregg Ingram, Coordinator Coordin-ator of Special Education with the Southwest Educational De. velopment Center will be the director and instructor. Other staff members include: Dr. Ben Bruce, psychologist, Utah State Department of Special Education; Dr. Don Logan, pro-fessor pro-fessor of Special Education, University of Utah; Dr. Clifford Clif-ford Drew, professor of Special Spec-ial urn firm ITnivprcitv rf . ., ... . - j - Texas; Florence Magleby, Director, Di-rector, Utah State Learning Disabilities School; Mr. Bruce Bower, Coordinator cf Special Education, Northern Utah Service Ser-vice Center; Jo Anne Gillis Director, Utah State Special Education Materials Center; and Dr. Cyrus W. Freston, Professor Pro-fessor of Learning Disabilities, University of Texas; and also special education staff members mem-bers from Millard, Iron, Beaver, Bea-ver, Garfield, Washington, and Kane school districts. The class will be held in the SUSC Music Building. |
