Humphrey, Ssiarla Richards William Glen Humphrey claimed Miss Sharla Rae Richards as his bride June 9 in rites solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Presiding at the ceremony was Temple President Reed Whipple, who also officiated at 'the bride's parent's wedding wedd-ing over 28 years ago. Parents of the 'bridal pair are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richards, 1243 South Ninth Street, Las Vegas and 'Mr. and Mrs. William Ernest Humph-j Humph-j rey, 171 Highland Drive, i Following the wedding the i bridegroom's parents hosted a luncheon. The newlyweds were also honored at a reception in the Las Vegas Sixth Ward Cultural Cult-ural Hall on June 10 and at an Open House in the Cedar First Ward on June 16. ' - The , ibride wore a floor length gown featuring a white nylon lace bodice with long fitted sleeves and a high ruffled ruf-fled Victorian neckline. Covered Cover-ed white satin buttons closed the cuffs and trimmed the front of the dress. The slightly Haired skirt was of white lip- Mr. and Mrs. Monte Pug-mire Pug-mire acted as host and hostess at the door; and Mrs. Kay Millet Mil-let 'and Mrs. Marion Ashdown were in charge of the refreshments refresh-ments which were served by Cindy and Caroline Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, Agnelynn Parry, Deborah Ashdown and Arleno Ash-down. Ash-down. , Following a honeymoon trip to the Utah Parks, the newly- j weds are making their home at 5oS3 Corral Circle, Las Vegas. The bride is a native of Las Vegas. She received her early education there and graduat-1 ed with honors from Las' Vegas High in 1967. She was a ! scholarship student at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University where she graduated in 1970 wtih a Bachelor of Science Degree- in Teacher Education. She also took a post graduate year of study at BYU in IIom(e Economics. Econ-omics. While attending BYU, the bride served as Relief Society Secretary and as a member of the Relief Society Presidency Presiden-cy and as a Sunday School organist. She has done gradu- ate work at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff and for the past year has been teaching fifth grade at the new Cyril Wengert Elementary School. She will continue teaching there this 'fall. Mr. Humphrey graduated from Cedar High in 1962. He served three years in the armed arm-ed forces and completed a two-year mission for the LDS Church in the West Central States. He has attended SUSC, and U of U earning his B. S. degree in Business Administr-tion. Administr-tion. He is currently employed employ-ed in Las Vegas as an accountant. ac-countant. Mrs. Richards wore an aqua blue floor length gown of pastel pas-tel green. Both mothers had white orchid corsages. Kim Humphrey was best man. At the Open House in Cedar the newlyweds greeted guests in front of a daisy entwined arch. Also standing in the receiving receiv-ing line were the parents of the 'bridal pair, Kim. Humphrey, Hum-phrey, Ruth Humphrey and Karlene Bauer. Mrs. Marilyn Prince furnished furnish-ed music during the evening; and a medaly of love songs were sung by Mrs. Alene Chamberlain accompanied by her daughter Cristal. |
