Show Clearing house for beautif ication projects Last week a plea went out from the Cedar City Bcautifi-cation Bcautifi-cation Committee to all Cedar City residents. Cooperation in weed control was request ed. Weeds in front of houses and in the curb strips were reported report-ed getting out of hand in some areas. Good cooperation resulted and many unsightly areas in town have been eliminated. If j at all possible, this problem should be handled by the property pro-perty owner, according to Elsie El-sie Jex, Chairman of Beautifi-cation. Beautifi-cation. There are alternatives, however. how-ever. Often the Boy Scout or Girl Scout Troops, 4-H Clubs, etc., arc looking for service projects. If anyone has a weed problem and l unaUe to take care of it himself, one of theie groups may be able to do it for them as a service project. The Beautification Committee Commit-tee will ast as clearing house. Any group who needs a project pro-ject or an individual who needs help, should contact Mrs. Jex at 586-6313. If the weeds are allowed to go to seed, the weed problem will b multiplied. |
