Show Twenty Ortons will celebrate Golden Wedding on July 20 Mr. and Mrs. Twenty Orton, well-known residents of Paro-was Paro-was are preparing to observe their Golden Wedding anniversary, anni-versary, which falls on Thursday, Thurs-day, July 20. The event will be celebrated with an open house being held in their honor hon-or that day at their home. This will be held on the lawns at their home with all of their friends and relatives being invited to call on them between be-tween the hours of 7 and 9 p, m. They request there be no presents. The Ortons have been active in the community life of this community for many years. Twenty is a veteran of World War I, and has been prominent promin-ent in the Parowan Post of the American Legion since its organization. He has worked with livestock most of his life and was manager of the experimental sheep herd for S U S C for 12 years. He has served as budget chairman of his ward for seven years Mrs. Orton was Parowan City Librarian for 35 years; taught school full time for six years and part time for six more. In her church activity she has served as teacher and class leader in the Relief Society in both stake and ward and has also served in both stake and ward Sunday school organizations. organiza-tions. They were married July 20, 1922 and the marriage was the St. George L. D. Temple solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple in 1923. They are parents of two sons, Joseph of Salt Lake City, and Paul of Henderson, Nev.
