Show Wranglers getting ready for Memorial Day races The members of the Red Hill Wranglers along with other city residents, are now busy getting the city race track and rodeo grounds in readiness for the two day Memorial Day Race Meet, to be held Friday and Saturday, n 09 anri 30, according to Norman Evans, president of ...iiig Uub. This will be the first race meet to be hold in Parowan under the auspices of the Utah State Thoroughbred Racing Rac-ing Association for many years and will be the week following the Kanab Race Meet set for May 22 and 23. An association race meet was held in Escalante, Utah a week ago ' with a report of almost 100 horses on hand. A final section of the outside rail on the home stretch has bec-n completed and painting is now under way. The construction con-struction of new paddocks are also now under way with the Iron County Fair board cooperating coop-erating in the project. While the full program of racing will be held each day, with post time set at 2 p. m., for guaranteed purses, the Wranglers also plan to go a-head a-head with plans for the usual between races entertainment. This will include games, jackpot jack-pot roping, if stock is available; avail-able; barrel and musical chair races, etc.. |
