Show 2nd Ward M-Meu are Stake basketball champs The Parowan Second Ward M-Men basketball team won the right to represent Parowan Paro-wan Stake in the District basketball bas-ketball Tournament to be held in Cedar City on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26 and 27 it is announced by David Orton, stake athletic director. The Second Ward team won the stake championship in a playoff held in the Parowan High School gym last Tuesday and Wednesday. In the two night event, Second defeated Enoch 62 to 34 on the opening round and then took the measure mea-sure of Parowan Third Wednesday Wed-nesday night 69 to 48. In other games, on Tuesday night the Third won over Parowan Par-owan First, 53 to 45 and on the last night in the game for third and fourth places the First and Enoch Wards tangled tan-gled in a hard fought game with First winning by a 48 to 47 score with the final basket bas-ket going in as the whistle sounded. Orton state that the Second Ward team will meet the winner of the Cedar West Stake in the District meet. Members of the Parowen entry' en-try' include, Eugene Robb, Mike and Eugene Adams, Reed Rowley, Royden Orton, Bob Elswood and Ernest Ahl-born, Ahl-born, player-manager. A playoff among the. Ensign En-sign teams of Parowan Stake, to determine an entry into the District Ensign meet,' also to be held soon in Cedar City, will be held this week, if facilities fa-cilities are available, accord-, ing to Mr. Orton.
