Show Legion Auxiliary sets goals ior 1971 membership Approximately 800,000 members were enrolled in the American Legion Auxiliary for 1971 bv January 31, 1971 Mrs. Orville Isom Membership Member-ship Chairman of Auxiliary Unit No. 71, has announced The ultimate goal for the year Is one million members. "The local Auxiliary Unit has 86 members and is continuing con-tinuing to re-enroll its members mem-bers for 1971 and to Invite other eligible women into the activities of the Auxiliary, which Is thf nation's largest patriotic women's organization," organiza-tion," said Mrs. Isom. Eligible for Auxiliary membership mem-bership are wives, mothers, sisters, daughters and this year for the first time granddaughters grand-daughters of American Legion members or of deceased war veterans, and women who themselves served In the armed arm-ed forces in time, of war. Eligible for American Legion Le-gion membership are men and women who were in the Armed Forces of the United States during any of the following fol-lowing periods: April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918; December Decem-ber 7, 1941, to September 2, 1915; June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953: August 5, 1964. to the date of cessation of hostilities hostili-ties as determined by the Government of the United States, all dates inclusive.
