Show BPW Club names Candace Ewing 1970 "Woman of the Year" years as Public Relations Chairman, and filled in as secretary or treasurer numerous numer-ous times. She served one year as special EPVV representative repre-sentative on the Chamber of Commerce Board. She served two years as State Corresponding Corre-sponding Secretary and was co-chairman of the State Convention Con-vention when held in Cedar City. Her attendance at BPW gatherings is almost lOO'i and she has always made an effort to be at regional and state functions. The members and officers would like to pay her this tribute: C is for constant companionship compan-ionship so freely given. A is always swing some 'good in everyone and much good in mast. N is never failing to carry her full share of the resiponsi-bilities resiponsi-bilities of perfecting the club. D is for dependability and devoting hours of work towards to-wards smooth running of such a club. A is for assuming responsibility responsi-bility in making Cedar City BPW one of the best clubs in the State. C is for consideration of all W'ith Whom Shf associates anH The Cedar City Business & Professional Women's Club held its regular dinner meeting meet-ing at Sullivan's Cafe February Febru-ary 10th, with 35 members and guests present. Mrs. Ellen El-len Jensen presided and welcomed wel-comed everyone. A patriotic theme in decorations recognized recog-nized the birthdays of two of our illustrious statesmen, George Washington and Abraham Ab-raham Lincoln. Mrs. Catherine Crichton, Chairman, and her committee on World Affairs had charge of the program. The four Wilson Wil-son sisters, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Wilson, entertained en-tertained with two songs, "Time for Us" and "Scarborough "Scarbor-ough Fair". Mrs. Crichton presented pre-sented Mr. and Mrs. Corrin Nielson as puesta of tho pln.h close communion with each member. E is for enjoying each member mem-ber and sharing their indiv-'.dual indiv-'.dual interests. All this and much, much more makes Candace "Woman of the Year". Mr. Nielson is a graduate of Dixie College and has served a mission in Austria as well as a further year of study there. He is now a Professor at Southern Utah State College Col-lege In the Behavioral Science Department. He lectured on the Middle East situation, and traced the causes of tension soma of which orisinateH in Biiblical times. Mrs. Caddy Middlesworth announced that the annual card party sponsored by BPW will be held March 25th at the Elk's Lodge. Eight members of the Cedar City Club attended attend-ed the Winter Board Meeting of the State Federation in Salt Lake City, Feb. 7th at the Ramada Inn. Mrs. Candace Ewing was honored by being voted the "Woman of the Year". Her at-tributes at-tributes for receiving this honor embrace every phase of BPW work, both local and state. She has been twice President of the Cedar City Club. Has headed nearly every ev-ery committee, has served six |
