Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING AMITY CLUB Thursday, July 13, the mem-bers mem-bers of the Amity Club invited invit-ed their husbands to attend a steak dinner at the Brian Head Inn., Those in attendance attend-ance included Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Brunson, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Corry, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Dix, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Roundy, .Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mackelprang, and Mr. and Mrs. Foyer Olsen. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lundgren enjoyed tP"A-nnt visit with their daughter, Mrs. Paul Bingham and two boys of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Bingham recently re-cently graduated cum laude from the University of Utah and received a Bachelor of Science degree in business. Mr. and Mrs. Heber Meeks and five children are currently vacationing in Cedar City from Borretro Sonne's. Calif , hofnro SUMMER READING CLUB Meeting at the home of Mrs. Sade Thorley Friday, July 14, were members of the Summer Reading Club. Hostesses for the group were Mrs. Ethel Lund and Mrs. Thursa Little. The program for the occasion was presented by Mrs. Lillian Lunt on the play, "Old Lady and Her Medals" by J. M. Berry. Eleven members were in attendance with two special spec-ial guests, Mrs. Ada Leigh and Mrs. Jennie Whittby. - moving to Poway, Calif., where Mr. Meeks has accepted a position of principal of the Pomerado Elementary School. In Cedar City they are guests at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Smith. Traveling to Cedar City Monday for the Shakespearean Shakespear-ean Festival were Miss Judy Sherratt, daughter of Mrs. Gwen Sherratt, . and Miss Claudia Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Palmer. The girls are employed at Grand - Canyon National Park and they brought a group of friends to attend "The Comedy of Errors." Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Williams have been their son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. R. A. Williams and three children chil-dren of San Jose, California. Former Cedar City residents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Heyborne and three sons of Lander, Wyoming, have 'been recent guests of Mr. Heyborne's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heyborne, and Mrs. Heyborne's mother, Mrs. Hunter Nelson. A group of friends called on John Rowley at his home Sunday evening to celebrate his birthday anniversary. Enjoying the weekend In Nephi were Mr. and Mrs. J. Harlan Burns and boys. They attended the Ute Stampede and visited with Mrs. Burns' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Park. EN AVANTE CLUB Setting for the annual summer sum-mer party of the En Avante Club members and their husbands hus-bands was the mountain cabin cab-in of Senator and Mrs. Dixie Leavitt at Navajo Lake. Mrs. Deal Christensen has returned to her home in North Hollywood, California, after a six weeks visit in Cedar City with her son, Gordon Christensen, Christen-sen, and her granddaughter Carol and her husband Rich- I ard T. Brown ana iamny. Mrs. Virginia Webster is vacationing in Seattle, Wash., this week. She is a guest at the home of friends, Mr. and Mrs. John O'Malley. H H CLUB A delightful evening was spent at Wood's Ranch by members of the H H Club at the annual summer party. Regular members were in attendance at-tendance and invited as special spec-ial guests were their husbands. hus-bands. Serving as a committee commit-tee for the party were Mrs. Reed Thomson, chairman; Mrs. M. L. Christensen, Mrs. Wal-tpr Wal-tpr Merryweather, and Mrs. Elene Jensen. Vacationing in Southern Utah for two weeks were Mrs. Paul G. Pendleton accompanied accompan-ied by her two children of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Pendleton Pendle-ton is the former Ruth Marie Hunter and has been a guest at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Hunter. |
