Show Army Veteran Gets Recruiting Position A veteran of Korea and Vietnam, Major Derrell J. Savage, Sav-age, is assigned as the new commanding officer of the U.S. Army Recruiting Main Station, Salt Lake City, Utah. This main station is the central headquarters for Army recruiting recruit-ing efforts in Utah, Idaho, Montana, eastern Oregon and northeastern Nevada. Major Savage, a native of Aberdeen, Idaho, views his new assignment as a home-l home-l coming. He has since 1962 niiect assignments reiatea to the Vietnamese War. In 1962 he was a part of the large military buildup serving as a military advisor in the Mekong Me-kong Delta. Upon his return from Vietnam in 1963, Major Savage was assigned to teach in the Special Warfare School at Fort Benning, Ga. In 1966 he again returned to Vietnam as an intelligence officer and later as an operations officer. |
