Show Baseball Activity Resumes After Week Layoff Baseball play was resumed in the four-team Parowan Little Lit-tle League on Monday of this week following a week's layoff because of the 4-H Club camp at Duck Creek, which Involved many of the team members. The games which would have been played last week will be made up as open dates appear ap-pear or at the end of the regular reg-ular season, states George Loosley, league president. In Monday night's contest, the league-leading Farmer's Supply team strengthened its Parents of the players and baseball fans generally are reminded that the games are played at 6 p. m. on scheduled sched-uled days on the new diamond on the southwest corner of the city park and there is plenty of shade for spectators on the south and west sides of the field. Baseball play has gone on very well this year under the guidance of Mr. Loosley, and Gale Stolk, umpire-in-chief, who selected the following as plate umpires for each game: Roy Benson, Howard Knight, Ken Bettridge and Dave Orion. Taking care of scorekeep-ing scorekeep-ing chores are Lael Dotson, Clare Dalton and Joan Mor-tensen. lead by taking an easy 8 to 0 win over Burton's "66", Keith Rollins was credited with the win although relieved in the fourth inning by Gaylen Gurr. Mark Orton was tagged with the loss. Tuesday night the Lions-Paragonah Lions-Paragonah team, which holds second place in the league standings, met the last place Bank of Iron County team and went down to defeat by an 8 to 6 score. Winning pitcher for the Bank nine was Richard Day and David Lamoreaux took the loss for the Lions-Paragonah Lions-Paragonah team. Thursday night the Bank of Iron County meets Burtons to open the week end action.. On Friday, July 21, the leading Farmer's Supply team meets the second place Lions-Paragonah team. There will be no game on Monday, July 24, but play will resume Tuesday, 25, with Burtons taking on the Lions-Paragonah team, and Wednesday, July 26, the Farmer's Farm-er's Supply meets the Bank of Iron County team. |
