Show i American - Church i Historical i Tour Leaves Friday Over 34 people from Nevada 1 and Utah will leave Cedar City by charter bus Friday, July 21, on the American and Church History Tour. Professor and Mrs. Theron Ashcroft will again conduct the 23 day tour which they originated 18 years ago. A few of the highlights on the itinerary, according to the Ashcrofts, will include a tour of the Ford Factory and assembly as-sembly line in Detroit, as well as the Ford Museum and Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Dear-born, Michigan. Niagara Falls will be a highlight along with the Pageant at Hill Cumorah in Palmyra. A Greyline tour will be taken in Boston and New York City. In Washington, D. C, they will have a V.I.P. tour of the White House, arranged by Senator Frank Moss. They will also see the Senate building, build-ing, the Iwo Jima Statute, Arlington Ar-lington Cemetery, the Changing Chang-ing of the Guard, President Kennedy's grave, Lincoln Memorial, and Mt. Vernon. Other highlights will include a day in Williamsburg, a village vil-lage restored to its 18th century cen-tury colonial form by John D. Rockerfeller, and a visit to Jamestown. At this point, Professor and Mrs. Ashcroft will leave the tour and fly to Belfast, Ireland, Ire-land, where Prof. Ashcroft will head the Ireland Mission for three years. Mr. and Mrs. Harl Judd, son-in-law and daughter of the Ashcrofts, will bring the tour home by way of a southern route, stopping at the historical histori-cal points of interest. |
