Show Medical Society Of Area Plans Meetings Members of the Southern Utah Medical Society and the Utah Oto-Ophthalmology Society Soc-iety will hold a meeting in Cedar Ce-dar City, Saturday, July 22. The one-day gathering will get underway at 9 a. m. with registration in the Music-Arts Building on the College of Southern Utah campus. All meetings will be held at the Music Center and luncheon at 12 noon will be served society members and their wives at the CSU Student Center. A number of specialists from throughout the state will participate in a series of discussions dis-cussions throughout the day. In the forenoon, Dr. Melvin M. Robins of Provo will discuss dis-cuss "Pediatricians' Greatest Challenge: Recurrent Infection Infec-tion in Childhood," Dr. Conrad B. Jenson, Salt Lake City, will treat the subject "Surgical Treatment of Cerebral Vascular Vascul-ar Insufficiency," and the topic "Care of the Retinal Detachment De-tachment Patient by the Family Fam-ily Physician," will be treated by Dr. Bayard H. Colyear, Jr., of San Francisco, Calif. Afternoon Topics Afternoon discussions will include: "Surgical Treatment of Peripheral Vascular Diseases" Diseas-es" by Dr. Jenson, "Summer Problems in Drowning and Snake Bites" by Dr. Robins, and "Determining Which Retinal Ret-inal Detachment Procedure to Use" and "The Light Coagula-tor Coagula-tor and its Uses" by Dr. Colyear. Col-year. Guests at the meetings have also been invited to attend activities of the Utah Shakespearean Shakes-pearean Festival while in the area, and also the Utah Civic Ballet which will open in Zion Bowl Monday, July 24. The program is under the direction of Dr. J. Garth Chat-terley Chat-terley of Cedar City, and Dr. Colyear's participation is supported sup-ported through a grant of the post-graduate program of Merck, Sharp, and Dohme, Dr. Chatterley stated. |
